READING ROUNDUP For readers in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, with their parents (or grandparents) What do you do at a Reading Roundup? Read, of course - anywhere you'd like to relax in the library! The schedule is as follows: read from 5:30 to 6, eat dinner from 6 to 6:30, read from 6:30 to 7, play a specially-created game of JEOPARDY from 7 to 7:30, and end the evening by reading from 7:30 to 8. What do you need to bring to the library? One of your parents or grandparents, a bag dinner (the library will provide something to drink as well dessert), a pillow if you want to stretch out on the floor, and a book or two to read (you can always pick out a book when you get to the library, if you prefer). Especially for children aged 2 to 6 (parents should attend with their children) Seisel and Torgan will perform their program "LITTLE KIDS, LITTLE SONGS", which features original songs on such popular subjects as rolling in mud, climbing trees, flying like an airplane and getting rid of monsters! PRINCESS STORY TIMEFor girls (and boys) ages 3 to 6 Hear ye, hear ye! The Mark Twain Library invites all young royalty, and our youngest friends who like to dress the part, to join us for a Princess Storytime on Monday, April 7 at 4:00. If you're between the ages of 3 - 6, put on your gowns and shine your crowns as we listen to fun stories and make a royal craft. Princes and knights are welcome to join in the fun. FAIRY CRAFT WORKSHOPFor children in kindergarten through third grade The wood fairies need a special home! Come make a fairy house in the woods outside the library during our Fairy Craft Workshop on Saturday, May 10 at 10:00. We will read fairy stories and children will make their own fairies to take home. Children in kindergarten through third grade are invited to attend. (NOTE: children attending this program should dress appropriately for outdoor activities.) Registration is required; please call (938-2545) or visit the library to sign up, starting April 18. |
