The CBC, a trade organization "dedicated to the use and enjoyment of children's books," is a partner in sponsoring the following annual booklists:
CHILDREN's CHOICES (top 100 children's books as chosen by 10,000 children nationwide; NOTABLE SOCIAL STUDIES TRADE BOOKS for young people; and OUTSTANDING SCIENCE TRADE BOOKS for students K-12.
Also available is a list of books to grow on for children up to 3 years old, and 75 AUTHORS AND ILLUSTRATORS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW.

British Children's Book Awards
Many of these books are published in the United States after winning acclaim in Great Britain.
CARNEGIE MEDAL -- "awarded annually for an outstanding book for children and young people"
KATE GREENAWAY MEDAL "for distinguished illustration in a book for children"
Nestle's SMARTIES BOOK PRIZE -- awarded annually to works of fiction and poetry for children, written in English by a citizen or resident of the United Kingdom. These prizes in children's literature for three age categories are determined by the votes of 25,000 schoolchildren 11 and under.
