Are you a Friend of the Mark Twain Library?
Samuel Clemens started this Library almost a century ago, joining individuals who believed in the goals, purpose and especially the need for a local library here in Redding. He would charge each of his friends one dollar when they visited him here in Redding, to help build and maintain the library.

Please consider becoming a “Friend of the Mark Twain Library”, our new name for members of the Mark Twain Library Association. To be more specific, a Friend of the Mark Twain Library in good standing is anyone who has made an annual appeal contribution in the past twelve month period.

Categories for Friends are as follows:

Individual: $50.00
Family $75.00
Patron: $125.00
Benefactor: $250.00
Director's Circle: $500.00
Mark Twain's Very Good Friend: $1,000.00

The contributions of the Friends of the Mark Twain Library go a long way toward providing our community with a gathering place which enriches our lives in many ways. They might be used for new bestsellers, compact disc recordings, video, DVDs or books on tape, the Summer Reading Program for children, large type books for seniors, and much, much more.

For those who are able, the Library has some special gift opportunities. They each come with special recognition.

Up to $1,000: Your name in the Book of Gold
$1,000 to $9,999 : Your name inscribed on a plaque on the Donor Wall
$10,000 and Up: Named gift opportunity, plus plaque inscription

Please contact Lisa Reese, Chairperson of Development, at 203 938-8463 for a list of gift opportunities. All gifts of $500 or more can be paid over five (5) years, and/or by credit card.

If you would like to get involved with one of the many activities at the library, we invite you to contact any of the Board members listed below. Click on the chair person's name to e-mail them.
