The Library's successful operation each year depends
on the commitment and generosity of an outstanding cadre of volunteers!
From our accomplished Board of Trustees to the
teenagers and retirees who perform exemplary community service,
all our volunteers are a valued part of our library family.
The Library's Volunteer Chair would
be happy to work with you to find a volunteer role that accommodates
your schedule and matches your area of interest. Specific volunteer
opportunities in 2009 are listed below, some with e-mail contacts;
if no contact is provided please
and we'll have our Volunteer Chair connect you with the appropriate person.
- before event: craft
preparation
- at event: helping
children with crafts or games, assist in the food area or at inflatable
bouncers, make snow cones or cotton candy
- before event:
sorters and pricers are needed all year; contact Jean Adler or
Jeanne Wendschuh by calling the library at 938-2545
- during event in August:
many volunteers are needed for two-and-three-hour shifts at the
time of the fair, including setup, clean up, cashiers, etc.
- before event (in
the fall): journal advertising sales, preview party prep,
invitations
- during event in December: Jury Day, Art-Hanging Day, Party Day, and Sales Week assignments.
The Programming Committee schedules adult
programs for the Library from September through May, and works
throughout the year to organize them.
The Library welcomes Redding residents
of any age who would like to assist the library staff with short-or-long-term
projects. Please contact Beth Dominianni, the Library Director,
directly, at 938-2545, if you are interested in this on-site volunteer
work.
