The Mark Twain Library is located at the corner
of Route 53 and Diamond Hill Road in Redding. At this location, Route
53 is known as "Redding Road"; if you are using Google Maps, Mapquest,
or an automobile navigation system, enter "439 Redding Road" as the
library's street address.
From the Merritt Parkway (three options)
- Option 3 - Route 7 (part
of route under construction; expect delays)
Exit 39/40: ROUTE 7/DANBURY/NORWALK
After exiting from the Merritt, head north for about a mile on
the wide connector road, which ends in a T-intersection. Take
a RIGHT at the traffic light, and then a LEFT at the next traffic
light, after which you will be heading north on Route 7.
Follow Route 7 from Norwalk through Wilton for about ten miles
(lots of traffic lights and commercial development). When you
reach the intersection with Route 107 (marked with a traffic light
and a state route sign), take a RIGHT (the right turn allows you
to avoid the stoplight) onto Route 107. (Landmark: Shell
station on far corner).
Proceed on Route 107 into Redding for about three miles until
you reach a stop sign, which marks the temporary merger of Routes
107 and 53; continue 100 feet to the next stop sign, and go straight.
(At this second stop sign, Routes 53 and 107 diverge; you want
to stay on Route 53, which continues straight ahead.)
Look for the Library on your left in less than a quarter of a
mile.
