The Mark Twain Library is located at the corner
of Route 53 and Diamond Hill Road in Redding. At this location, Route
53 is known as "Redding Road"; if you are using Google Maps, Mapquest,
or an automobile navigation system, enter "439 Redding Road" as the
library's street address.
Exit 6 ROUTE 35 East/CROSS RIVER
Head east for about 11 miles on Route 35 through Cross River and
South Salem in New York State into Ridgefield, CT until Route
35 hits a T-intersection in Ridgefield and merges with Route 33
(Landmark: marble fountain).
Take a LEFT at this intersection on to 35/33 (Ridgefield's Main
Street) and proceed for approximately 100 yards until the next
road on the RIGHT, which is Route 102.
Turn on to Route 102 and proceed for approximately 3.5 miles along
this windy road until you hit Route 7 (traffic light; Ancona's
Market on right).
Turn RIGHT onto Route 7 and head south for approx. one mile into
Wilton until you reach the intersection with Route 107 (landmark:
Shell station on left)
Turn LEFT at the light at this intersection, and proceed on Route
107 into Redding for about three miles until you reach a stop
sign, which marks the merger of Routes 107 and 53; continue 100
feet to the next stop sign, and go straight. (At this second stop
sign, Routes 53 and 107 diverge; you want to stay on Route 53,
which continues straight ahead.) Look for the Library on your
left in less than a quarter of a mile.
